About Dr. Gustaveson

Dr. Cody Gustaveson is licensed clinical psychologist (PSY34321) living in Southern California. He relocated to the Southern California in 2013 after moving back to the USA from Japan.

He was always interested in human behavior, philosophy, and issues related racial discrimination. In 2016 he received an honorable discharge from the United States Navy and began work on a PhD in clinical psychology. He focused on the field of psychophysiology with a primary interest in how issues of racial discrimination contribute physiologically to the complex health disparities related to ethnic minorities. In 2022, he completed his dissertation titled Examining the Relationship between Heart Health Measures, Coping, and Perceived Ethnic Discrimination.

Dr. Gustaveson completed his doctoral internship in clinical psychology in rural northwestern Alaska. Working closely with indigenous populations in Nome, Alaska and the native village of Teller. Spending much of his time exploring, fishing, and learning about the beautiful cultures that have survived in some of the harshest climates on earth.
